Flower power in the Park 60’s style.

This year’s 60’s in the Park was hosted at Whittaker Park (a change from previous years’ 60’s on the Square in Rawtenstall town centre). The event was full of retro fun, with plenty of 60’s fancy dress, mods arriving on their mopeds, and great music from the decade provided by Rossendale Radio.

The day brought the full variety of September weather—bright spells mixed with heavy, squally showers—but that didn’t dampen the spirit of the event. Brian and David held the fort at our stall throughout the day, supported at intervals by Kelvin, Stuart D, Dean, and Ged.

There was once again fantastic engagement from the public, with many people keen to try out CPR on “Little Annie” and learn how to use the CR2 training defibrillators. This time, we also had a small thank-you for those who joined in—our exclusive CFR badges, which proved very popular!

The event also gave us the chance to network with other charitable organisations, with several exciting potential opportunities now on the horizon.

A huge thank-you to everyone who stopped by—we’re already looking forward to the next 60’s on the Square (or in the Park!) in 2026.
