Rossendale Responders Inspire Young Lifesavers at Unity College

On Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th October, the Rossendale Community First Responders were once again invited to Unity College, Burnley, to take part in their annual Restart a Heart event — something Team Rossendale has proudly supported for several years.

Over the two days, the team delivered training to the school’s entire Year 7 group, giving students the opportunity to learn and practise lifesaving CPR and AED (defibrillator) skills using the school’s training mannequins.

This year’s event was supported by Dawn, David, and Liv (from Lancashire Constabulary) across both days, with Kelvin joining the team on Thursday and Dean on Friday. The students were enthusiastic, engaged, and asked some truly thoughtful questions throughout the sessions.

We hope everyone enjoyed the training as much as we did! A huge thank you to all the staff and pupils at Unity College for their warm welcome and fantastic hospitality during the event.
