Sunday 7th December and the team were at the Helmshore Christmas Farmers Market for the annual bottle tombola.

Firstly a big thanks to all the individuals, groups and companies that collected and donated items for the tombola! We genuinely could not do it with out you – thank you so much!

So the forecast wasn’t going to be very promising for the day – but when has a bit (or lot!) of rain ever stopped a First Responder!?

The tombola crew made up of L-R: Christmas Tree (Dawn), Santas piggyback friend (Stuart P), Santas very special helper elves (Lyssia & Lyanna) Chief Elf (Paulene), The Grinch (Richie), with Derek overseeing and keeping things in check. Also helping out but on in the picture Ged, Brian and David who was on call CFR for the day.

As ever the people of Rossendale were fantastic and queues formed to have the chance of winning one of the prizes, any ticket ending with a 0 was a winner!

Quite a few people had their eyes on several items in the tombola and kept coming back to try their luck

The weather stayed dry mostly until 11:30 when mother nature certainly let us know she was there.

We had a great day with the majority of the prizes being won, including the top prizes! So a big thanks to everyone who supported us by buying a ticket.

We raised the fantastic amount of £500.33p which will be being used this year to assist Community Defibs for Rossendale with the immense and expensive task of replacing a number of manufacturer discontinued defibrillators out in the community.
