We don’t want to brag about how good our No Fear course is – so that’s why we let those who have genuinely attended the course tell you themselves!!
“Just because our No Fear sessions are free, doesn’t mean they aren’t invaluable. This training could save the life of someone close to you — we provide it to you for free. It’s a no-brainer — why wouldn’t you do it for the people you love and care about around you?!”

The feedback we receive from our No Fear CPR/AED sessions consistently shows just how valuable this training is to people across Rossendale. Many attendees arrive feeling nervous or unsure about dealing with a medical emergency, but leave with greater confidence, practical skills and the reassurance that they could genuinely help save a life if the worst were to happen. From complete beginners to those refreshing existing knowledge, the sessions are designed to be relaxed, friendly and hands-on — helping remove the fear around CPR and defibrillator use. And what’s more our instructors have first hand experience experience of CFR & AED as First Responders, and are keen to share their experience and knowledge with the public.
At Rossendale Community First Responders, we strongly believe everybody should have at least a basic understanding of CPR and how to use an AED. In a cardiac arrest, those first few minutes before emergency services arrive can make all the difference, and bystander CPR can significantly improve survival chances. That is why we continue to deliver our No Fear sessions free of charge across the Valley, helping make lifesaving knowledge accessible to everyone in our community. Its two hours of your time that you could give someone the gift of a lifetime back!!
As David Chatburn, RCFR Duty Team Leader, explains:

What have people like you say about out CPR/AED No Fear training.
The course was very interesting & I feel more confident in being able to help someone in need of the service if ever needed and not scared of using the equipment anymore. – Sharon Aspinall – February 2026
I attended the No Fear session tonight to update my knowledge. I am a retired nurse and I was a First Responder 11 years ago. However I was aware how guidelines change & in many of my hobbies & activities I’m aware of friends that have cardiac problems (myself included). I did not feel confident of my knowledge.
The training was informative & practical and we were given the opportunity to ask questions. The information given was excellent & working in pairs to practice CPR & using the AED helped immensely. Well done to all the team. – Loretta Swale – February 2026
Excellent explanation of the importance of CPR to potentially save a life. – John Fargher – February 2026
Excellent training no question is wrong the team have excellent communication skills and the way they train really made me feel confident should I need to assist someone in need. – Nigel Hudson – February 2026
