Saturday 5th July and we headed up to Goodshaw Baptist Church for their annual Garden Party – and this year funds were being raised for our sister charity Community Defibs for Rossendale.
Now at times the weather really didn’t play ball with squalling showers, but that wasn’t stopping us from having a great day!

On duty for this event Dawn, David & Kath. Its was great so see some of our other ‘blue light’ organisations coming along and supporting the event. We had Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Fire & Rescue, our friends at Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team, Blood bike charity & not quite a blue light organisation but hugely important (as viewers of Clarkson’s Farm will know) the Rossendale Young Farmers.

There were some brilliant events indoors for when it became a little to damp outside, and a great BBQ. As usual we had loads of people, young and old getting a bit of practice in with our Annie & defib.
We also had quite a few stories from people about their experiences of cardiac arrest – both helping when they witnessed a cardiac arrest. And impressively being able to talk to actual survivors of cardiac arrest which we love to hear!
And even some talk about potentially a new location for the Valleys latest CPAD – watch this space for more news on that in time.
By the end of the day over £300 had been raised which is fantastic, and a big thanks to everyone!! So a really big thanks to Goodshaw Baptist Church for inviting us along!!

We are not quite sure what trouble David & Kath got into, to end up in the back of the Police van – but we really did keep our eye on them for the rest of the day!
