About Community Defibrillators for Rossendale
Community Defibs for Rossendale (CDfR), (in partnership with the Rossendale Community First Responders), work to improve survival rates from cardiac arrest by increasing access to publicly available defibrillators across the Rossendale Valley. Their aim is to ensure that life-saving equipment is placed where it is most needed, while also raising awareness of how early CPR and defibrillation can dramatically improve outcomes in an emergency.
A key part of CDfR’s work is fundraising for Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPADs) and associated equipment. They collaborate with local businesses, organisations, and residents to raise funds, install defibrillators in accessible locations, and provide secure cabinets for 24/7 use. Ongoing maintenance is also supported—ensuring pads, batteries, and units remain ready when needed—making each installation a sustainable, community-driven effort to save lives.
